Message | Alcohol, while it has it's perks and good times, is well noted for being destructive when it's use it not regulated. While adults are responsible for their own choices and actions, children are often not. Alcohol is a personal and difficult choice, and I for one I feel they are not in the right stage of maturity to be making a choice such as this that may jeopardize their future, and subsequently our future as a nation. By removing the temptation of readily obtainable alcohol and the legal right to consume it, as well as teaching our youth the value of responsible drinking habits, we can hopefully preserve our future leaders. |

Message | By having alcohol as this prohibited substance for them during their youth, of course that's going to lead to a binge drinking culture as soon as they reach adulthood. It is far better to allow people to become accustomed to alcohol, so that it is not a big deal. That way, a child can join in with a glass of wine with family over a meal, to learn that that is how drinking responsibly is. Indeed, prohibiting the sale to adults does not stop youths obtaining alcohol and getting drunk, that'll happen regardless of what the law is. In addition, having age restrictions is discriminatory, and discrimination is wrong per se. |

Message | I agree with your views of drinking in a family atmosphere with parents, which is why I believe that coupled with this should be a lowering of the age of adulthood to 16. It would allow such behavior without undermining a family's right to drink communally. And if you really think about it, and talk to the youth of today, 16 is a very ripe age for people to become involved in politics and start making their own decisions. In the end, it gives them an extra 2 years to have been voting, giving them that much more valuable experience when it comes to their nation's politics. |
