Bill: Welfare Support Act, 2654

Details

Submitted by[?]: Grand Liberal Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2655

Description[?]:

This is a bill to provide Rutanians who are "poor" with a better opportunity at life. Although the previous and current law is just fine, this ensures that all Rutanians have a good chance at life, which is something the GLP firmly believes in.

MessageThe current bill gives incentive to the person receiving welfare to get themselves back on their feet while still enabling them to subsist for a time. If you remove the provision limiting the welfare for a limited time then you will end up with people not doing anything, knowing that they can just get help from the government.

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation.
