Details

Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2655
Description[?]:
We recognise that the creation of a DNA Database is of substantial use to the police within Telamon. However we feel that the current system of devolving such a atabase to local government is wrong. Currently some local bodies can choose to collect DNA data on ALL citizens, other collect data on know citizens. Therefore in order to establish a uniform system across the entire nation, we propose that a national DNA Database is creatd. However in order to prevent abuse, only DNA from convicted felons should be stored. This will aid the police in catching repeat offenders, but will ensure that no law abiding citizens is wrongly treated or has their DNA stored despite them being innocent. |
