In order the the people of Quanzar be better defended from potential foreign aggression, and in order to discourage invasion by threatening resistance by our people in the event of occupation, it is hereby resolved: That soviets may be established to independently produce armaments That adults may privately own arms, under a licensing regime to ensure that they will only be used for sport, professional uses, or the defence of Quanzar That local Worker's Defence Militias shall be established across Quanzar The licensing regime shall require that owners of guns have undergone psychological checks and military training, and be a member of their locality's Worker's Defence Militia, unless the weapon is required for professional use (ie gamekeepers) |

Message | People need security not weapons. If we cannot protect our own citizens let's reform our society, but I will not allow people to get weapons freely. |

Message | I'm not entirely opposed to this. Whilst, like the Neos, I would hate to see mass popular armament for the sake of it, I think that if we specify what the license is I'd like this bill. I think that licenses should only be given to those who have completed military training and only used to defend the Union. Sort of like a creation of a people's militia. |

Message | I suggest that arms should only be owned by Soviets rather than individuals, but that they may be issued to any individual who has undergone basic military training and perhaps psychological/background checks for the purposes of defence of the Union and further weaponry and/or combat training. This ought to make decisions over licensing and choices of which types of weapons are appropriate more simple and facilitate democratic control. |
