Bill: A Return To Normalcy bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Aloria United

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 2123

Description[?]:

Our national motto: "An Equal Voice"

But our current voting system is not proportional - the current algorithm gives an advantage to the larger regions. This was temporarily put in place, and we believe it is not necessary now.

MessageIn comment of the April 2115 Fair Representation Amendment, the Freedom Party claimed:
"The Freedom Party will support this. While we proposed (and voted for) the current legislation, we did not do so because we particularly believed that it is "better" per se, but rather because we wanted to undermine the strength of an EXTREMELY powerful Monarchist party."

Thus the Freedom Party, now in its position of largest party, is hypocritically rejecting a motion to return to the original system. What do you say in your defence, Freedom Party?

Remember our motto: An Equal Voice!

MessageOur current method of representation WAS the original system. You will note how we used the PAST tense when we spoke of why we voted for the "equal representation, regardless of region population". The monarchist party which we referred to, called the Independent Party of Aloria, was defunct before your party existed.

We will repeat: the proposed system is NOT the original system and we have no idea where you got that idea.

MessageOkay, fair call. We thought you were referring to the Socialist Liberal Party. Since we've made a mistake, we shall also vote 'no' on this bill. :D
