MessageA reintroduction of this bill, instead of paying part of the way for students. Assuming that the student cannot pay for the higher education course out-right, the government pays for the student until the point where they can afford to make repayments through a slightly higher tax rate. This bill is specifically targeted at working class families that cannot pay for their child to go to university or a trade college, but it can be utilized by richer families. The mean\'s test is on the student, not the family, and the assets that are not considered in the means test are minor non-current assets such as furniture, fittings and motor vehicles.

MessageWhere does it say the means test is based on the student and not the family?

MessageConsidering that education ends at the age of 17 in year 12 and university starts the year after, the family is no longer considered for students applying for loans. Not to mention the age of adulthood in Hulstria is 17.

MessageAdulthood does not necessarily mean that they are classified as financially independent. We would need clarification from the Finance Minister.

We would ask that parties consider refraining from voting so that we may come to a larger consensus on Education, Health, and Welfare policies found here: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=227862

MessageWell we'd ask that the HLP abstain as well, but if parties do not abstain to give the Consensus process a chance then parties will have to vote as they would otherwise.

Random fact: Players consent to the reasonable and predictable consequences of the role-play they consent to. For example, players who role-play their characters as committing criminal offences should expect those characters to experience the predictable judicial consequences of that.
