Bill: Drug Criminilastion Act of 2122
Details
Submitted by[?]: Hobrazia First
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2123
Description[?]:
Currently we have no laws regarding the use of recreational drugs, It is Hobrazia First's position that all recreational drugs except Cannabis should be outlawed. The side effects both pyshical and psychological of these drugs place a strain on our National Health Service and can also prove a danger to other citizens of Hobrazia (psychosis attacks, decreased reaction times while driving, etc). Cannabis is a fairly mild form of drug in terms of side effects and due to its popularity among youth criminilising it may drive our young people towards a life of crime. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The recreational drug policy.
Old value:: There are no laws regulating what citizens can put into their bodies.
Current: All naturally occurring drugs are legal.
Proposed: The use of cannabis is legal.

Message | I can't support. The people should choose for themselves whether or not to use drugs. |
Date | 14:11:20, October 07, 2005 CET | From | We Say So! Party | To | Debating the Drug Criminilastion Act of 2122 |
Message | We might be able to support limited limitations on drug use, however the complete banning of recreational drugs is foolish. This will just force users underground and increase the risk that the drugs sold would be of such poor quality that the strain on our health service would increase. |

Message | We would also point toward our current laws on this as an example of the steps already undertaken to control any harm that may be incurred through the use of these drugs http://82.238.75.178:8085/particracy/main/viewbill.php?billid=8157 |

Date | 07:44:44, October 08, 2005 CET | From | Hobrazia First | To | Debating the Drug Criminilastion Act of 2122 |
Message | We were unsure about how strict to make this bill, the reason we proposed that recreational drug use be outlawed entirely is that smoking is banned in this country, it seems like common sense that if one is banned then the other should be. We will change the proposal to keep Cannabis legal as that is a fairly mild drug in terms of side effects |

Message | Smoking is banned due to its known health effects. All other recreational drug that have such health damaging effects are also banned under the current legislation. |
