Message | It is believed that recreational drugs, e.g. cannabis, can lead to the taking of more serious drugs. There is also a possibility that it can lead to brain damage, although this is not certain. The Neo Kanist Rite Party believe that by passing a law to forbid recreational drug use there will be a number of benefits. We believe that drugs will probably be harder to purchase, although of course there will still be a drug industry, and we believe that by banning recreational drug use we could stop a number of people being introduced to drugs because they would be much harder to come across and therefore would be used much less recreationally. We believe that if recreational drug use is forbidden a number of people who may consider taking drugs would be less willing to do so because of punishment enforced by the Government. On the other side of the argument a ban on recreational drug use will almost certainly result in the emergence of a black market for drugs. There would therefore be less control over the strength of a number of drugs which could lead to a number of deaths due to overdosing. An alternative to banning recreational drug use could possibly be to allow it and impose strict regulations on the drugs used. The Neo Kanist Rite Party would find it very interesting to hear other parties opinions on the matter. |

Message | Neo Kanists made a good point. What if, however the drugs will become the "forbidden fruit"? What if people will start smuggling, more and more drugs into our nation? Having such policy, we would also have to make a more restrictive border search from neighbouring countries. The ban of drugs will most certainly reduce the intake of them, but at the very start. Soon, dealers will find a way or a contact that will allow them of aquiring more drugs and selling it here. Therefore, the law is better than no regulation at all, even if it has a few glitches. Our first thought, would be to vote for yes, however we shall abstain for now, as we would like to see other parties expressing their opinions. |

Message | We feel that although this is a step in the right direction, it is too big a step. We would prefer a more moderate approach. |
