Bill: Anarch Anakrousite Reform Bill - Power to the People

Details

Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 2123

Description[?]:

The Anarch Anakrousite Party suggests some moderate reforms in the power industry, chiefly, a democritisation of the power-supply process.

As in other cases where the AAP has suggested similar 'private' interests, it is always considered that the government itself CAN sponsor private enterprise of their own. We just believe they should 'earn' that position in the market, not be 'gifted' it, unfairly.

MessageIn light of zero commentary, the AAP intends to push this to a vote, as a sort-of 'test case'. If any party feels they had insufficient chance to voice an opinion, feel free to voice it.... it will be considered when, and if, the same (or similar) legislation arises again.

MessageI think that all parties are by now aware of the LPE's opposition to the privatisation of vital industries. We feel that, while it may not be quite as profitable for the state to run the service, a much better and more accountable service is provided to those who need it under the state system.

MessageResponse to the LPE: How can it be 'more accountable'? The service is regulated by the same body, whether private or national... and Likatonian law automatically steps in to help troubled essential-service industry. The only difference is, as far as the AAP can see, that the nationalised industry owns the regulatory body as well, which seems like a dangerous state of affairs.
