Bill: Judicial Reform Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Social Libertarian Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2043
Description[?]:
Earlier, the Front for a Solidarian Country proposed a bill to give everyone legal counsel paid for the state and open the courts to public view unconditionally. This bill had many flaws, but it did realize that there needs to be reform in the courts. Therefore we propose that free counsel be provided to those otherwise unable to afford it, and only they. This bill will not equalize the differences between rich and poor because it simply is not possible; it will, however, provide needed reform. We propose that all graduates from the nation's schools of jurisprudence be required, for a span of five years, to serve the Beluzian Republic as public defense counselors or public civil attorneys. They shall be paid a base salary that is near the GDP per capita during these five years, receiving small monetary rewards for successful cases. Upon completion of five years, they shall be dismissed from government duty and allowed to pursue a private practice. This bill will not only provide the poorer individuals in Beluzia with more legal rights, but will also provide the nation's lawyers a broad range of experience that will improve the quality of the legal system. |

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI). |
