Bill: Death penalty ban
Details
Submitted by[?]: Christian Democrat Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 2698
Description[?]:
Ban on the death penalty in all situations, regardless of the crime. This party sees the death penalty as against human rights and seeks to remove the court's power to issue it. As the death penalty is irreversible, if any new evidence is found, the sentence cannot be overturned for any meaningful effect. The death penalty can and has before caused innocent deaths. This party also believes in the right to a second chance and for a convict to see the wrongs of their actions before dying - this cannot be achieved by the death penalty |

Random quote: "The moral justification of capitalism does not lie in the altruist claim that it represents the best way to achieve 'the common good.' It is true that capitalism does, if that catch-phrase has any meaning, but this is merely a secondary consequence. The moral justification for capitalism lies in the fact that it is the only system consonant with man's rational nature, that it protects man's survival qua man, and that its ruling principle is justice." - Ayn Rand |
