MessageWe cannot support this. Such a high minimum wage would utterly ruin the economy. The minimum wage must be reasonable. Please don't put these resolutions to vote so quickly.

MessageSure. Since minimum wage is universal and must apply to all wages, it discourages employers from hiring part-time unskilled employees. When part-time unskilled employees, many of whom are teenagers or the elderly, cannot get jobs that employers don't want to give away, employment and disposable income can decrease as a whole, causing a general shrinking of GDP. A high minimum wage also puts considerable pressure on businesses, who are going to have a tax increase thrown at them too. A suitable minimum wage would be lower than the one you're proposing.
