Message | The National Party of the Elites considers that the Commonwealth of Rutania provides a most liberal legal framework for the functioning of every religion. This fact is regarded by the NPE as a benevolent act and in accordance with the Commonwealth's fundamental values. However in the NPE's opinion every Church is organic part of our nation thus they have the obligation to contribute to the Commowealth's prosperity. Provided that the state is not in a very favourable economic situation, the NPE proposes this new form of taxation. The party's good intentions are revealed by the proposal that donations should not be taxed, only other profits. Lord Klausenburg, Chairman of NPE |

Message | The NEP are against the taxation of religious institutions. Although we may be in the negative profits wise, there is already a proposal, backed by the major parties, increase taxes elsewhere and reduce spending. This tax is unjust tax. This is like taxing people's ideas. We will fight this bill at all costs. |

Message | We at the Orange Party agree with the National Equality Party. Religious institutions should be treated as any other non-profit organization. This tax is unnecessary and could possibly be construed as government interference into religion. |

Message | This proposal would not interfere in the life of the religions but in the life of the Churches. The NPE does not want to put an obstacle to religious freedom, but it believes that Churches must contribute to the welfare of the nation, because it is their interest too. Lord Klausenburg Chairman NPE |

Message | It is not in their best interests to do so. Church's have a hard enough time as it is raising the money they need, especially with the rising popularity of Atheism in the world. Taxing churches will only push back their progress. |

Message | The NPE cannot understand how the OP and the NEP are not able to distinguish between religion and church... Their lack of knowledge might damage the country, but we hope that next time people will vote for competent parties... The NPE will put forward this proposal for voting. Lord Klausenburg, Chairman, NPE |

Message | Mr speaker, the government has long tried to stay out of the affairs of religion institutions and orders in Rutania. We prefer not to tax religious as the government does not need to interverne with their affairs, except of course if there are cults in which we must take action. However, I'am tend to support this bill, to help boost the economy. We have many religions in the country at the moment, christianity, islam, jewish and of course the Church of Drunken Fighting and if all of these religions are taxed it would give a vital injection of capital to our economy which at the moment is low. Message | What is the definition of profit in the case of a church? It is clearly a non-profit organization. We understand the difference between religion and churches, churches operate as non-profit organizations--no profit. We don't see how a tax on religion would do anything but hurt the churches and create outcries against the government saying that we have become an anti-religion government. The two (church and religion) are different, we see your point. So why don't you go ahead and include a provision to tax all non-profits if you're going to tax churches? |
