Bill: Education Decentralization Act of 2705

Details

Submitted by[?]: Constitutionalist Imperial League (IA)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2712

Description[?]:

Public education, if it is to exist, must be the best possible. For it to be so, it is very important for it to be delocalized at a level where government is much closer to the people it governs, as at the impeiral national level, government often gets very detached from the realities of the situation at a national level. This does not mean that our national government is particularly bad as all national governments suffer from the same problems.

To assure a better public education where it is needed, it is very important to delocalize the school system to the duchy level, where elected officials can perform an easier task over a smaller amount of people, therefore being more efficient and losing less tax payer money.

MessageCompletely against.

Status quo.

Let the people decided what they want. If they can afford private schools, and want their kids to go there, then so be it. If they want public then they have the choice.

Not everything is best in the "capitalistic" setting. Why the hell do you think we have recessions?

I can not see any reason to do such a thing to our kids. Our Public schools are the envy of the Civilized World. We should continue to show them, that our future generations will be even smarter than those before.

These changes, will only degrade our children, and drive those that are poor from being able to have a decent education, which in the long run will bring down this Empire.

We must continue to stick to the status quo.

MessageThis bill in no way forbids public schools, what it does is merely decentralizes the responsibilities to local governemnts that are closer to the people.

Also, recessions are a natural correction of the makret and not something to be feared or avoided normaly.

MessageStrongly support, but would prefer to abandon public education entirely, rather than just move it into the hands of local governments.

MessageThis Empire, was built on the centralized authority of the Emperor. The education must remain at the status quo, to have the best of both systems, decentralized and centralized.

I will not support, for I strongly believe in keeping the status quo.

MessageThere is no decentralized education system under the status quo. Keeping too much power in the hands of a few centralized individuals is extremly dangerous as this means that these individuals can easily be corrupted by huge amounts of power. In addition, the central government is always detached from the population, while local governemnts are closer to the people and thus closer to their needs.
