Message | The Orange Party will not support this bill. Freedom of the press is paramount. The government should not determine what the press should say, the people should. They know which new sources are reliable and which aren't. If we start telling the press what they can and cannot publish just imagine what that could lead to. -Thomas Wenzeslaus, Speaker, Orange Party |
Date | 17:34:40, February 05, 2009 CET | From | Kazari Militarist Movement | To | Debating the Accurate Information Bill 2706 |
Message | We strongly agree with the Orange Party on this. The government should not meddle in the affairs of the free press, it should be up to the media outlets, newspapers, radio stations and television broadcast studios themselves to regulate what can or can not be said. Besides, I believe that those ultra-conservative and far-left moonbat pundits are just there for entertainment rather than information and news. -Harrison Nguyen Phan Elfrink |

Message | This bill does not want to undermine the freedom of the press. They can show whatever they want...but after showing something they must take the responsibility. The freedom of the press does not mean that everyone can say everything without any responsibility. The media can and should display everything, but after committing smth unethical they must be regulated. As a burglar is punished for his deeds, the media must be treated the same way. They are not an entity standing above the law. The media is bound by the laws of the Commonwealth as every citizen or organization Lord Klausenburg |
