In order, in the event of a national emergency, to guarantee that the safety of the citizens of this Nation is maintained, whilst also reducing the strain on the Police Service in certain duties to allow the Police to deal with those crises that they are more efficiently trained, the Police will be allowed, with the agreement of the Head of the Police Service and of the Minister of Internal Affairs, be allowed to call upon this assistance of the Armed Forces should events occur that stretch Police to their limits. Additionally, during such times as a national emergency be called, any emergency service may, with the agreement of their controlling officer, call upon the Armed Forces to provide additional assistance and/or security in order for them to complete their duties as efficiently as possible. |
