Message | I somewhat agree with this. I agree they should not have to work but, I don't agree with they can earn money. I'm sorry I just don't think that's right, if they want to do work fine but, they don't need to be given a small wage for it, their in prison! |

Message | "If you can't do the crime, don't do the time" They knew the punishments of their actions, so to bad for them. |

Message | Do any of you know anyone who's ever even been arrested? You seem to have a bizarre faith in the judicial system to always be right. Anyway the vast majority of people in prisons are there for relatively minor non-violent crimes, should they really be used as slave labour. And if none of that can convince you, how about the fact that unpaid prison labour has a depressing effect on real wages in the economy. Surely in these harsh economic times then people can be guided by economic sense rather than petty vengefulness. |

Message | CWP let me make this clear to you, we do support ending forced labor in prisons for the prisoners HOWEVER, we will not agree to ending it by paying them. CU: You quote about if you can't do the crime, don't do the time does not work for you in this case, for that is adressing them spending time behind bars not doing forced labour. |

Message | Any worker anywhere deserves to receive at least a living wage. |
Date | 00:34:15, February 16, 2009 CET | From | Alorian Populist Party (DemCoa) | To | Debating the Emancipation Proclamation |
Message | A living wage is what a worker needs to survive comfortably. In a state prison, thats supposed to already be provided whether the prisoner works or not. |
