Bill: The Education Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Rutanian Heritage Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2716

Description[?]:

The constitution of Rutania does not make provisions for the federal government funding and regulation of our education system, nor is such power implicit. Education, therefore, is not a federal government responsibility, and should rightly be devolved to state and local governments.

Currently, the federal government has a monopoly on public education, enforcing unnecessary uniformity among the states, and effectively stripping local communities and parents of their responsibility to choose an education best suited to their children. This is also a concern because of the inherently corruptible nature of federally funded and regulated programs - it is likely that the powers that be will attempt to structure the public school curriculum in such a way that suits their own ideological positions, indoctrinating students to their conventional, politically correct, secular-humanist line of thinking.
A totally centralized public education system goes well beyond what the 'Rutania Protectionist Party' believes to be the proper restrictions on federal government power, and we believe that the founding fathers would agree. Let authority over education lie closer to the local families and communities concerned - local governments are far more responsible and accountable to the people and their needs than the federal government could ever be.

We strongly oppose the current managerial state, and will only ever vote to diminish and dismantle its over-reaching and unconstitutional powers.

MessageImperium well not support, the current law is fine as it is and devolving responsibilties to local governments on an important factor such as education is a mistake.

MessageThe 'IP's comments indicate that they do not trust local and state governments to be responsible to the local communities and families they represent, but why should the federal government be any more worthy of our trust?

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map.
