Bill: The Social-Security and Welfare Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Rutanian Heritage Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2717
Description[?]:
The maternalistic welfare programs currently funded by Rutania's federal government undermine the virtues of personal responsibility and independence, and place an unfair burden on tax-payers. The 'Rutania Protectionist Party' believes that the 'tax-and-spend' mentality that underpins these social-security programs - which are now largely taken for granted - is extremely dangerous, in that it entrusts the federal government with almost exclusive power over our money, as if federal bureaucrats know how best to manage and spend it for our own good. The 'RRP's vision of federal government does not involve a welfare-state - it is not the constitutional responsibility of the federal government to take a large portion of the people's incomes to use on their behalf. Let all authority over issues of welfare be dealt with by local and state governments to prevent this forever-growing managerial state. |
Proposals
Article 1

Message | We support Article 2, but cannot support Article 1. We believe people who are down on luck, but are productive, should receive aid from the government to get back on their feet. Nothing more, nothing less. |

Message | I don't support either, for article 1 your saying people who lose a job cannot at least get some sort of money to help them, the orange party is right, you need to at least let them have some kind of aid to get back on there feet. article 2 i just believe that if you work in the government long a enough and are in good standing you should recieve some kind of penison |

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with. |
