Message | The RASU supports the first two articles, but not the third. We recommend that divorce policy be devolved to local governments as well, or omitted from the bill altogether. |

Message | We oppose all of these measures. If a single person can prove to be a fit parent why shouldn't they be allowed to adopt? Devolving the powers of adultery to local governments is merely an attempt to have some local governments make it illegal rather than legal, not anything to do with local governments making their own decisions. As for the third article we think people should be allowed to divorce if they are simply unhappy, we do not see why the state should decide what a valid reason for divorce is. |

Message | A single parent never can provide a child with enough attention or care. |

Message | I strongly disagree with that and what is the alternative anyway, to be cared for by the state/ |

Message | The RASU is surprised to hear such a condemnation of the state, especially following the SSSP's support for Repealing the Omnibus Decentralization Act, among other things. |
Date | 19:04:05, March 03, 2009 CET | From | Modern Revolutionary Socialist Party | To | Debating the Defence of Marriage Act of 2719 |
Message | It is not a condemnation of the state, but being cared for by a loving parent is preferable to a state institution. The SSSP strongly believe in the power of the state and the role of the state in helping people (and the state should care for children who have no one) but adoption by suitable people is better. |

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action. |
