Bill: Call for early elections, March 2721

Details

Submitted by[?]: People's Party - Republican Democrats

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.

Voting deadline: November 2721

Description[?]:

We, the People's Self-Defence, call for early elections as soon as we can reach a consensus.
A balanced and representative proposal for a new cabinet has been defeated by the unreasonable expectations of one of the parties who would have been represented in that coalition cabinet.
Unless we are content to be stuck with an unrepresentative cabinet for the rest of this term, the best solution would in our opinion be early elections, after which we will hopefully see a House of Commons where majorities allow for the formation of a new government that represents the will of the electorate.

MessageWhat an disappointing result. Unless somebody else presents a solution soon, our nation will have to live with an unrepresentative government for the rest of this term, it seems.

Random quote: "Civil disobedience. . . is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is that numbers of people all over the world have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience. . Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves, and all the while the grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem." - Howard Zinn
