Bill: Anti-Prostitution Act of 2125

Details

Submitted by[?]: Parti Monarchiste Catholique

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2126

Description[?]:

Colleagues,

This is a proposal to end the practice of prostitution which reduces women to little more than sexual objects that can be bought. We encouage all parties to help us make this practice illegal, so we can prevent women from selling themselves short and entering this sordid profession out of desperation.

MessageYou are right it will not stop it, it will only reduce it. But we've made murder ,rape etc illegal. It didn't stop them from happening but it did reduce them.

MessageMaking prostitution illegal is only the first(and easiest,I would say) step towards getting rid of it. Afterwards you have to fight with the cause of prostitution:poverty and lack of education. And that takes a loooong time.

MessageWrong, the easiest way is to make it legal and heavily tax it so it isn't profitable, as it is currently.

Message" the easiest way is to make it legal and heavily tax it so it isn't profitable"===> prostitution legal but not a recognized profesion.

In other words if you tax it too much nobody will recognize that are prostituting themselves so they can avoid paying taxes, so we would be back to where we started.

We are suprised that this is the reason you vote against. We would expect you to vote against so you can protect the rights of the women who want to prostitute because they like it. There are some you know!
