Bill: Due Course of Law

Details

Submitted by[?]: Alorian Populist Party (DemCoa)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2725

Description[?]:

Due Course of Law. This bill is meant to remind the IPA that the law is to not be enforced by any entity but those with legal jurisdiction. If something is stolen, the victim can seek legal action to get it back, but extra legal means are, as such, illegal.

Right now, municipal and state government are dealing with the situation in Egalite. This bill also suggests that the national government take some sort of action if need be. But in any case, an assault on the city of Egalite by IPA security is illegal, and this bill is meant to remind them so.

The property owners shall be compensated, either by the transgressors or government for their losses, but all actions taken to enforce the law can, by definition, only be enforced by the law itself.

Random fact: Don't put "the" as the first word in your party name, because when parties are referred to in news reports, their names are preceded with "the", e.g. the [Socialist Party] has lost.
