Bill: Sturm und Drang - Visitor Program
Details
Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2728
Description[?]:
We propose amending our demographic census methods to allow for disparate cultures, and to highlight the significance of those differences. To whit - we recommend re-addressing 'culture' and 'citizenhood' to allow for the dominance and legal precedence of Immeressence, the One True Religion. Citizenship should be determined by adherence to the Immeressent faith (since it IS official AND mandatory), and all occupants of the nation should be called upon to register as Immeressent or 'other'. We propose no unfair behaviour towards those of other faiths, they would simply be registed as non-citizens, and thus unable to vote, claim government benefits, etc. In conjunction with this - we recommend enhancing our foreign policy status to allow for these 'visitors', making the borders more open for these transitory residents. They could enroll in work programs, through the enhanced embassy program. (Obviously, not being citizens, they would not automatically qualify for citizen benefits, like minimum wage, or industrial protections, but this is a small price to pay for allowing apostate workers to work within the borders of this Immeressent nation). |

Message | We are saddened that legislation to actually increase the rights of citizens, and increase the access for trade and tourism, is met with such negativity. It is a sad day to see so much fear governing the Likatonian government. When did freedom become the enemy? |

Random fact: The people in your nation don't like inactive parties. When you often abstain from voting for a bill, they will dislike your party and your visibility to the electorate will decrease significantly. Low visibility will means you are likely to lose seats. So keep in mind: voting Yes or No is always better than Abstaining. |
