Bill: Reduce the Size of the Congress Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Democratic Centrist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2730
Description[?]:
Let's lower the number of seats in the National Congress. As it is now, the high amount of seats only leads to an excess in spending in the form of payments to the members; if we halved the number of seats, the costs would also be halved. That money could then be spent in better ways. The representation of each party would still be the same with a lower number: a party with 10 % of the seats in a 750-seats assembly would still have 10 % of the seats in, for example, a 200-seats assembly. |
Proposals
Article 1
