The REP consideres that in particular cases positive discrimination in hiring policies in advisable in order to prevent social discontent. Thus we propose that these policies should be placed in the hands of local governments, which can decide according to their circumstances.

MessageWe may be able to support this, though we favour the current legislation. Positive descrimination is simply the favouritism of minorities ahead of those who may be better qualified, but are part of a majority group. Those who show superior skill and qualification should be rewarded, regardless of other meaningless factors. Hiring policies should be based on merit alone - positive descrimination should not be tolerated under any circumstances.
