Bill: Farm Defense Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Parti Populiste Nationale de Kanjor

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2741

Description[?]:

The farmers of Kanjor are the back-bone of our society. They feed us, and by feeding us they keep us secure; we should never have to rely on any other nation for our most basic necessities. However, while our farmers are protected, the current level of protection is not adequate. It is the opinion of the MRN that we owe our farmers more than what they're currently awarded. We owe them not only more gratitude, but more money in aid and subsidies.

Additionally, farms that grow too large lose the sense of individual initiative and spirit that drives the farmers of our great nation to produce the crops that they do. As farms become monolithic profit-makers, the small farmer -- a glorious symbol of the perseverance of man against an often furious natural climate -- is left behind.

The MRN therefore proposes an expansion of the protection of agriculture such that our farmers will never, under any circumstances, have to worry about whether they will be able to make ends meet. Additionally, the MRN proposes that, rather than seeking to merge farms, the state should encourage small land-holdings that encourage farmers to grow not only more crops, but better crops, by adding a more personal touch to the growing and harvesting of these crops. The state must never forget that, no matter how caught up in industrial advancement the world is, we all have to eat.

Random fact: Players who consent to a particular role-play by acknowledging it in their own role-play cannot then disown it or withdraw their consent from it. For example, if player A role-plays the assassination of player B's character, and player B then acknowledges the assassination in a news post, but then backtracks and insists the assassination did not happen, then he will be required under the rules to accept the validity of the assassination role-play.
