Bill: Protect Our Heritage Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Parti Populiste Nationale de Kanjor

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2742

Description[?]:

The MRN stands firm in its belief that a nation that does not defend its culture with steadfast determination is doomed to failure and societal collapse. Culture binds our people together, and a fundamental part of that culture is the history that makes it up. It is the opinion of the MRN that the national government takes too little interest in the fate of sites like museums, and, therefore, proposes that they be guaranteed funding and protection, so that all citizens of our nation can freely experience and appreciate our nation's glorious past time and again.

MessageEspecially given the regional differences of Kanjor; locally run and funded museums and such are much better suited to ensure that the right exhibits are present.

MessageBy allowing local governments too much control, we run the risk of seeing a divergence of cultural theme; we cannot build unity through difference. Although I agree that exhibits that are relevant to localities are important parts of museums, it is the primary duty of a museum to educate and inspire based not on the culture of one region or another, but based on the nation of Kanjor, united as it is and always should be.

Furthermore, if the people of a region decide to cease funding for a museum on a whim, we'll have no outlet to defend it; this bill will give us that helping hand that we need to ensure that no one can even come close to harming not only our museums, but our sacred national monuments.
