Message | We support the death penalty for capital crimes, but we feel that the 'REP' are merely proposing this legislation to impose their political agenda against Nova Terra by threat of death. This is political axe-grinding and nothing more. |
Date | 19:53:24, April 20, 2009 CET | From | Popular Socialist Liberation Movement | To | Debating the Death Penalty Bill of 2743 |
Message | We think that there is no need in death penalty even for such crime as terrorism. This is always possible that judges will make a mistake and innocent man will be sentenced for execution. |
Date | 20:32:02, April 20, 2009 CET | From | Rutanian Restoration Party | To | Debating the Death Penalty Bill of 2743 |
Message | We share the views of the PSLM on this issue. We fought for the removal of the death penalty in the past, and see no reason to start using it now. |

Message | We understand the concerns of the OP and PSLM but death penalty would be applied only to acts of terrorism and high treason. These are cases occuring extremely rarely. And the NRPF should not be afraid of this bill if they withdraw from Nova Terra, which by the way did not happen, yet... |

Message | Actually, we will abstain - we fervently support capital punishment, but this legislation restricts it to members of 'Nova Terra', quite clearly, for no reason other than to attempt to deter them. In any other circumstances, we would support. |
