MessageNo. Our country has already had an election one year ago (August 2743). Also, we only lost 111 seats; the Parliament still has 638 members, or more than 2/3 of the original set of Parliament members. Let us not irritate our countrymen any more by conducting an unnecessary election. We must focus more on creating solutions for a better Aloria.

We suggest that you allow all members of Parliament to finish their term in office as well as the term of President Michael O'Riley.

Message111 MP are inactive... so this means roughly 43,000,000 Alorians are not represented. Just before we were inactive we had an agreement that we have early elections as soon as their are over 100 seats available.

And offcourse we want to get our plurality back. We went inactive by accident last week, so we want our seats back ;)

MessageOOC:

Well, I can understand the part of plurality getting back. But if this were a real country (which this game is supposed to be simulating), having another election just a year after the last elections were held is something the people would not prefer, especially in peace-time.

You can think of it this way. When you and APP left, there was 256 out of 750 seats in the Congress left. And since President Geranome was APP, that means Aloria doesn't have a president. Even worse is that Kyle Stone, Prime Minister from the People's Party, could not assume the presidency because People's Party had slowly become inactive by this time. This was indeed a political crisis in Aloria. Thus, elections were very much necessary.

After that, elections had been conducted. O'Riley wins. Now, we shouldn't let the people undergo that crisis once again so soon.

Lol. You just have to live in Italy. Or Belgium. Early elections almos every month!

Well.. it was just something the old parties agreed on, that we have elections everytime there were over 100 seats available. Think about it, 111 people represent almost 43 million Alorians. And offocurse those seats could be going to your party.

But I'll see... all new partes in Aloria... so new rules. Well, fine to me... we'll have to wait.

MessageI look at it this way. In the US elections of '64, Lyndon Johnson defeated Barry Goldwater for the Presidency. According to Goldwater, he lost because the people didn't want very fast change. Kennedy had been assassinated in November '63 and Johnson took over. A very abrupt, shocking change occurred there. Johnson had barely been president for one year when elections came. For Goldwater, people didn't want another sudden change at a time like that, thus he lost.

But let's just see what DCP, NSA, and NRP thinks.

Random fact: Particracy does not allow real-life brand names (eg. Coca Cola, McDonalds, Microsoft). However, in the case of military equipment brand names it is permitted to use simple number-letter combinations (eg. T-90 and F-22) borrowed from real life, and also simple generic names, like those of animals (eg. Leopard and Jaguar).

Random quote: "Capitalism and communism stand at opposite poles. Their essential difference is this: the communist, seeing the rich man and his fine home, says: 'No man should have so much.' The capitalist, seeing the same thing, says: 'All men should have as much.'" - Phelps Adams
