Bill: Exotic Animals Act 2127
Details
Submitted by[?]: Totalitarian Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2128
Description[?]:
Presently, our citizens are allowed to own exotic animals. This is not in our best interests. Exotic animals can have an adverse effect on our environment if they escape from their owners. Our native wildlife will have to compete for resources, or may even become prey for the newcomers. Exotic animals may require special care, which our citizens cannot give them. Our veterinarians will not be qualified to treat these animals, causing distress for the citizen who buys an expensive animal only to find they cannot get it vaccinated, and pain for the animal when it develops a condition that local veterinarians cannot treat. One cannot argue that these animals are interesting, and sometimes beautiful to behold, though. Our citizens should be able to view them. We suggest these animals be limited to zoological institutes that are able to accommodate for their needs, and properly care for them. |
