Date | 06:04:23, May 13, 2009 CET | From | Rutanian Elitist Party | To | Debating the Citizens' Welfare Bill |
Message | The REP is firm believer of devolution and de-centralization. Furthermore we do not agree with any welfare act, so we cannot support this bill. Victoria von Bruckenthal, President, REP |
Date | 15:26:03, May 13, 2009 CET | From | Rutanian Heritage Party | To | Debating the Citizens' Welfare Bill |
Message | We echo the sentiments of the 'REP'. We fervently support state's rights and decentralization, because the more political and economic power is dispersed, the less chance it will have of being mis-used, and the more local it is, the closer it will be to the families and communities who have the most stake in it. Most of this legislation, rather than strengthening welfare, merely deprives local governments of their autonomy in the funding and management of their own welfare systems and concentrates the power of the welfare state. This is likely based on the erroneous assumption that the federal government is somehow more efficient and more accountable in funding and managing welfare than local and regional governments. We reject this legislation in its entirety. |
Date | 21:19:03, May 13, 2009 CET | From | New Rutanian Liberal Party | To | Debating the Citizens' Welfare Bill |
Message | The New Rutanian Liberal Party have exactly the same stance on this subject, as the REP and the RHP. We do support decentralization, which is a reason why we don't believe this bill should pass. Signed, the NRLP. |
