Bill: Religious Equality
Details
Submitted by[?]: Rationalist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2128
Description[?]:
Until you can define what constitutes a recognized religion, there is no criteria for the systemic discrimination that currently exists. We point out, mainly to the Conservatives, that this is not a dig at established religion, it is a recognition that age does not always impart wisdom, and that splinter groups and new sects should have equal rights as those with more history. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The governments stance on religious schools.
Old value:: Religious schools are allowed, but are strictly regulated. Only recognised religions may set up religious schools.
Current: Religious schools are not allowed.
Proposed: Any religion may set up a school, but they are strictly regulated.

Message | No. Again and again no. We may allow freedom of religion, but i will not allow a mockery of religions, that have stood the test of time. |

Message | Like the Catholic church before the Roman Catholic Church? Or the RCC before the Reformation? Or Zorastism before the rise of Islam? Religion is constantly changing. This is not a mockery, WHICH I ALREADY WROTE AND DIRECTED AT YOU, it will not deminish any current sect in any way, it will only allow more choice (that thing you guys are always on about). |

Message | So if someone decalred a new religion called the "Lets Blow Up America" religion... you would consider this okay? Again I agree with the Conservative Party... |

Message | IT WOULD BE REGULATED!!!! |

Message | Maybe your right RP, nonetheless, i agree with TLP's comment. If the religion is truly fine, it will have absolutely no reason to not be recognized by the government in the first place. Without this clause, Suicide cults would be legally allowed to preach. |

Message | We have no way to define recognized currently, since the schools are heavily regulated (as it says in the proposal) it would be impossible for a group to teach hate or violence without government sanction (which I would hope they would never recieve). Your arguments are answered by the government's involvement with the approval of the curriculum. (btw, thanks for pointing it out IP) |

Message | I can throw your words back at you, you know. We have no idea to define regulated currently, for all we know the government really doesnt care, and just says so on paper. See how easy this works? |
