Bill: Realistic Labeling Policy
Details
Submitted by[?]: Rationalist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2128
Description[?]:
Since we cannot test for genetic modification in processed foods, and crossbreeding in plants like conola ensures that entire food types will soon be GM or GM decended, and that current policy would severely hurt international trade, and that these failings make the government expenditure to oversee this process an unjustifiable cost, we must ask that this body remove the labeling requirements for GM foods. |

Proposal[?] to change The government's policy concerning genetically modified (GM) crops.
Old value:: invalid choice

Proposed: All activities related to production, selling or researching of GM crops are allowed.

Message | I'm sure there are plenty of ways....for instance, if apples were being spliced with pig genes. I would want to know. Follow? |

Message | There's no way to test them. And what difference would it make if there was no ill-effects of the consumption of these apples? (btw, having talked to several rabbis about the issue, they generally agree that a few chromosomes do not constitute an unclean food) |

Message | Unfortuantly i cannot vouche for your statement, but i will ask rabbi's myself. If they say the same thing, i probably won't have a problem with supporting this. |
