Message | Mr Speaker, The LDP of Luthori has concerns regarding Article One as it may eliminate the process of appeals - which are a valuable part of a justice system. We do support the remainder of the Articles, however. I yield. |
Date | 15:48:31, May 29, 2009 CET | From | Constitutionalist Imperial League (IA) | To | Debating the Justice Reform Act of 2763 |
Message | Mr Speaker, We assure the LDP that the system of appeals will not be eliminated. It is the opinion of the League that appeals are a very important part of the judicial system. However, we do not recognize the authority of national courts on ducal law. Therefore, appeals can be made up to the highest court of the duchy and then to the Imperial Supreme Court. This is a measure to give more authority to local governments on matters that affect them. I yield. |
