MessageYou must draw the line somewhere! Desecrating the flag is wrong and shows dis-respect for Aloria and the nations people as well!

MessageIf we ban the speech we disagree with, then what is the point of free speech?

MessageIf you do not agree with the flag you do not have to desecrate or dishonour it. We might as well not have a flag if people are going to treat it dis-respectfully.

MessageThat is completely irrelevant. Freedom of speech must be respected.

MessageWe agree, freedom of speech includes the freedom to stage a protest by desecration of the flag. If we're going to ban it why don't we ban speaking against the country while we're at it. Oh, and why don't we ban opposition to the government. And while we're at it, let's ban these "election" thingys as well. That's disrespectful of the government, aren't they.

As you can see, this is likely the thin end of the wedge and should be treated as such.

MessageThere is no line to draw with freedom of speech, a country either allow all forms of expression or it does not have freedom of speech. A flag is a square of material, it is meaningless, it is not worth fighting for, dying for or anything like that. What is worth fighting and dying for are the beliefs and ideals of the country the flag represents, I believe we should stand for freedom of speech and therefore will vote against this.

MessageIf it is just a piece of material, why do we have one? It obviously does not mean much to any of you.

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature.
