MessageWe will support this proposal for this reason. By restricting logging to firebreaks only we cripple our nations ability to use a crucial resource - timber. As our nation exists under an extremely isolationist program it is unlikely we will have the ability to import enough of this resource to sustain even our most basic need as the current policy has effectively destroyed our native logging industry. We accept that the environment is one of the major concerns that we face today; which is why in our last budget we increased the Environmental budget by 25 billion DDO. The forests need protection but our nationals need timber and the republic already enforces replacement at higher then cutting levels meaning for every tree cut down the government is obligated to replant two.
