Bill: Protection of Strategic Industry Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: We Say So! Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2128
Description[?]:
In order to allow for International Trade, but also to protect those industries that could otherwise be destroyed through the importation of cheap, low quality imports, the Government will impose limited tariffs on certain goods on a case-by-case basis. Tariffs are only to be introduced on those goods that could destroy important internal industry or are imported from Countries with questionable human or employment rights records. This bill only comes into force with those Countries and industries that individual trade agreements have not been signed. Should specific trade agreements be brought in then those agreements have priority. This allows for Hobrazia to continue to work with close allies whilst also guaranteeing important, strategic internal industries. |

Message | Hmm... Isn't there a proposal for reciprocal tariffs only? I'm not sure about this proposal as is. |

Message | Reciprical tariffs are all well and good, but what this bill does is allow us to protect those industries that we deem to be important whilst also allowing us to trade those goods without tariffs should we sign a specific trade agreement with another Country (i.e. Selucia). |
