MessageWe fervently oppose this legislation. Should the federal government regulate religious schools, it will inevitably impose on them secular restrictions in accordance with the ideological prejudices of whichever party is in power. It is not the federal government's role to make a value judgement on what children should and should not be taught in schools.
What schools teach their pupils is ultimately a matter to be resolved between families and the schools themselves - if parents want their children to be taught lessons and values at school that are consistent with a certain denomination of Protestantism or Catholocism, for example, this option should be available to them without government interference into the curriculum.
Above all, we see no particular reason for this legislation - what is it attempting to achieve? It is perhaps more reflective of the HA's own ideological meat-grinding and anti-religious bias than a genuine will to improve the education of Rutania's children.
We oppose this legislation, and we oppose any like it.

MessageThe Rutanian Heritage Party seems to believe that religion is above the law. With so much in the news about Catholic priests sexually assaulting young children and the rise of aggressive evangelicalism (that are nothing more that cults), it's about time that Rutania guarantee's all children the right to a safe and valuable education , regardless of faith.

MessageIf the HA is truly concerned about child sex abuse in Catholic schools, perhaps they should propose a policy aimed specifically at this issue; a policy that punishes sex offenders rather than regulating religious schools.
Our major concern with the policy proposed is that it implies federal government regulation of the curriculum and teaching styles of religious schools, and, when the federal government is involved in the regulation of something in which values and religion are concerned, indoctrination and ideological meat-grinding will inevitably follow.
We will not allow religious schools to become the next target of the HA's secular-humanist crusade; we will not allow them to fall victim to political opportunism and left-wing, anti-Christian, politically-correct bias.
