WHEREAS the Government of Rildanor affirms that each citizen is equal before the Law and the Sovereign of this State

WHEREAS the Government of Rildanor believes that noble titles are unnecessary and will only cause a superfluous division of the citizenship into classes.

THEREFORE His Majesty The Roi, by and with the advice and consent of the Sénat, enacts the following:

Definitions

Noble titles means Duc, Marquis, Comte, Vicomte, Baron, Prince, Seigneur
Ranks means Fils de Rildanor, Petit-fils de Rildanor, Prince du Sang, Prince étranger

Part I - Noble Titles

(1) All noble titles as defined in this act shall be abolished and repealed

Part II - Ranks

(2) The abolition of noble titles shall not affect the ranks of this State.

Part III - Chevalier

(3) The title of Chevalier shall only be used in the context of a State or Military Order and does not confer noble status on the members of these orders or the holder of this title.

Part IV - Grandfather

(4) Current holders of noble titles may retain the usage of such titles until their death, at which time the title will be extinct and cannot be assumed by their heirs and/or successors.
