MessageMr Speaker

We support articles one, two, and three though believe one should go farther.

However, we oppose 4 and 5 vehemently.

We believe that the first half, 123, and the second, 4 and 5contradict, therefore, will abstain for now, and will watch how other parties vote. We ask the RUP for more consistancy.

I yield.

MessageLDP of Luthori Secretary to the Imperial Diet, the Rt Hon David Bowman:

"Mr Speaker,

The LDP of Luthori supports all efforts to allow women, as well as people of all religions, nationalities and personal traits, to play active and equal roles in the military.

The rest of the articles, however, we strongly oppose.

Compulsory military service is an expensive, yet useless institution that will do little if anything to defend our nation. A fully trained and serviced military is the better alternative.

As for the arms trading, this is done by private corporations and should in now way be regulated or restricted by the Luthori government. Like all other industry, it will run much more efficiently and effectively if it is not regulated by government. There is no legitimate reason why the arms industry should be any different.

For similar reasons as the SJC, we will abstain from voting in this bill for the time being.

I yield."

ToDebating the Military Reform Act
MessageMr Speaker,

The League opposes all articles. The only one we could possibly support, under very specific circumstances and depending on the composition of our governing board is article 3. However, we stand firmly against most other articles.

We believe compuslary military service to be expensive and unnecessary, seeing as we have one of the finest militaries in the World.

We believe it is best to restrict military service to those of Luthori and Hutorian ethnicities.

We are against restrictions on arms trade and we believe women should only serve in non-battle positions.

The League will vote no.

I yield.
