| The Rutanian Heritage Party believes that the death penalty is an appropriate retributive punishment in some circumstances, and is the only punishment commensurate to the crimes of murder, terrorism, rape, and child sex abuse. The RHP believes, however, that it is appropriate that the issue of capital punishment be devolved to local governments, so that it may be resolved at a level closer to the people. As such, the RHP proposes that capital punishment policy should be left to the discretion of local governments, and that the crimes punishable by death may include, but are not limited to, any or all of the aforementioned. |
