MessageNo, Central government should make these decisions, NO devolution.

And no to the other articles too, we have nationalised the Post Office and Trans for a good reason.

MessageYes, we also realise it ruins cohesion and collectiveness, messing up a single, working system.

MessageUmm, the system will still exist, it will just allow a companies to deliver priority items right to someone's door. For example, if someone orders computer ink from a store located in another town, they can ship it right into them that same day along with their other deliveries as opposed to waiting for the national system; espeically if their shipments are going to that town anyway.

Obviously, however, not all deliveries will be this necessary to necessitate circumventing the national postal system.

Besides, this gives the OPTION to the consumer. We do not understand why the education of a child is up for option but the delivery of frozen steaks is not.

MessageThe National system is nation wide, they can send their packages or letters to EVERY corner of the nation and thats the way it should be. Competition may weaken services or prices or the employment market and is just not worth it.

National postal service is a important right that must be maintained.

MessageIndeed, and it will be maintained under the current proposal. If competition weakens it, then it must streamline itself. Why should the taxpayers have to pay for the function of an inefficient entity? If it is already efficient in using its revenue than it should have no fear of a private company.

Likewise, if the national postal system exists alongside a private system, then there will be more jobs available.

MessageCompetition may not be best, at least we ensure employment and a national service.
