Message | No. We see no reason why foreign media should be given special treatment when compared to Hobrazian media, and anyway the only regulations we impose on the media at the moment are that the publication of false information and hate speech is forbiden (correct me on that if im wrong). International media shouldn't be allowed to do either of these in any case. Also this could possibly see our own national media firms moving offshore, so that they too willbe able to lie to the Hobrazian people (and increase their circulation/ratings with these fantastic stories), which would most likely have a slight negative economic impact on Hobrazia |

Message | If they moved offshore, where would they go first of all? And as you said our laws pertain to hate speech and false information only and this would have no effect at all on our media We cannot start censoring everything that we dissaprove of. We not a totilitarian state, so why is this considered harmful to us. Thats paranoia, fearing international news broadcasts. |

Message | The points made by HF are all correct. Why should we allow international media any differences to our own? Current laws don't stop our people learning about other cultures, and as already pointed out, the only we don't allow is hate speech and false information, that's all we censor, that doesn't stop anyone saying anything against anyone else, as long as it's true. And the ability to move offshore is a viable alternative. All they would have to do is take a large ship, move outside of Hobrazian territorial waters and broadcast from there. It isn't difficult and would allow them to break our laws. What advantage would that serve? |

Message | Because they are not our own, and we know what is propaganda from the truth. We already censure our media, now were going to censures other nations media to protect our citizens from viewing another view point rather then are own state run media. Paranoia and censorship and this need to dictate what our citizens can watch, listen to, read, forced out of their homes, dictating how to run private industry, how many cars they can own, etc..We are now a totalitarian state. Father knows best right? |

Message | Ok, so we allow international media to spout lies about anyone they want, but that's alright because they aren't in this Country. International media spouts hate speech trying to make one group start fighting another, but that's fine because they aren't in this Country. Oh, wait, because their programmes are being shown in this Country, they are in this Country, it just so happens that those programmes, or that paper, is produced outside of our territory, but they are freely available to any citizen. You seem to be wanting to find enemies everywhere, whereas all we say is that International media being provided in this Country should not be lies or hate speech. This Country isn't totalitarian. As I remember, it was you complaining about what the USM used to say about you, but now what you propose doing is allowing that, as long as they said it outside of our Country. That's just hypocritical. |

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature. |
