Message | Why not have some real change such as molding togetehr the head of state and head of government roles, rather than this rubbish. Changing the name of something will do little to repair the damage caused by the current government and some parties of this nation. Lady Gaga |

Message | "We have proposed the unification of the Head of State and Head of Government countless times over the centuries, it has however, been knocked back. We are interested to know however, what 'damage' the VRP are refering to? This Act is intended to serve as a reminded of Senatorial power over Executive...and yet the VRP, who have been campaigning for that very cause...oppose it? *sighs* if only they could pick a direction." Message | Given the current opposition this debate is really over. Over 1/3 of the senate have opposed this meaning less than 2/3 support is available. |

You seem to be switching around on the matter an awful lot." Andrew Bullen (C: Fu) Deputy Leader of the Conservative and Morality Party |

Message | We havent switched once. We support serious constituional change. We fail to understand how changing the name of the senate will mean suddenyl out of the blue senators will have a range of powers all because they;re now known as Soverign senators sitting in a Soverign Senate. Yes, a huge big impovement for senatorial power. This is just one huge big cover up for the fact the CMP has no policy and doesn't take seriously the power of senators. We all know following recent debates that they would rather break the law than have senators get more power. Giving us senators a new name, is hardly going to enhance our powers in anyway. Explain to us how you think it will. Lady Gaga |

Message | ooc: *Sovereign IC: "The VRP change continuously their stance. They support senators above the executive, now they don't. They're a christian party, then they promote nuclear weapons..it's just shift after shift. The CMP on the other hand, promote a balance between Senatorial Sovereignty and Supreme Presidential Authority, we have said it many times, it's called "Political Equilibrium". The purpose of this bill is to highlight to the Solentian people the value that this senate places in both parts. We do not believe that the Supreme President IS Supreme, thus we wish the title to be changed. We believe Senate to be Sovereign and vital- thus we wish to see that reflected to avoid confusion over our position on the matter. The CMP's proposal on Supreme Presidential Authority offers a balance that is reflected again, in the more material changes of this act. The two acts together provide a "political compromise" that allows the democratically elected Supreme President to retain his/her executive function and power over their own cabinet whilst maintaining that the Senate can overrule them if those decisions turn out to be poor ones. The Senate should be a check and balance to the Executive, we have always said that- it's in our policy statements on our website if you'd care to take a look. The VRP simply overlook the major issues and aren't seeing the big picture." Andrew Bullen (C: Fu) Deputy Leader of the Conservative and Morality Party |
