MessageWhile deregulation might not be a bad thing, we favor regulating closed-source software as long as the regulations are transparent and serve the clear public need of encouraging innovation. Excessive regulations would be those that discourage it.

There is a clear role for government here but it should not be overdone. Another thing that shoujld not be overdone, of course, is deregulation.
