Details

Submitted by[?]: New Daio Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 2130

Description[?]:

In an effort to reduce the costs of military weapons, aircraft, ships, vehicles and supplies, we propose that the government be allowed to contract the production of these items to private corporations.

To prevent the sale of weapons and military supplies to nations which may threaten us, we further propose that weapon-trade law be tightened.

MessageThe thought behind this is that competition for defence contracts will inspire advancement and reduce costs.

MessageWe will fully support article 1, but not article 2. The current law regarding arms trade is fine and will still allow us to trade with our closest allies anyways. Therefore, we will not support this bill at its current state.

MessageI do not disagree, but businesses can be ornery little animals that need to be encouraged but kept closely watched. If there are no objections in 12 hours, I will remove article two and move to vote.
