As of right now, any Joe Shmoe from the street can walk up to a shop and buy a gun. I propose that instead all people would have background checks, and even then, when the gun is fired it would be recorded and for what reason. |

Message | This month 18 students were killed by a gun at a school in Telamon (according to the news page). I fully support these sensible restrictions and am sure that the voters will punish any poltiical party that does not. This recent incident shows that it is simply too easy for anyone, including children, to purchase a firearm. |

Message | Bah! Random events never work my way. As proven by the USA gun restrictions does not prevent this kind of madness. It happens as often in states with hard gun laws as in those with more or less unlimited gun rights. Furthermore, the current laws only allow adults to have guns, so if a ban could prevent a shooting then this shooting would have been prevented. And if one of the adults present had gad a conceiled gun, not so many innocents would have gotten killed. So this rather calls for more guns than more restrictions! |

Message | TCP: How is it relevant how many tarts the US has had? Or did you mean they are restarted and has not had time to become as stupid yet? Gun laws "work well" in the sense that there are not huge demonstrations against it, because people can get guns anyways, and most of them don't need guns. But that is not a reason to tell everyone what they may or may not use to defend themselves! And the USA examle was only meant to show that gun laws does not prevent tragic incidents like this one. |

Message | TCP: You are making an ass of yourself. If you mean vote results that's not clear yet. And CPA does not exist, so you are dithering. |

Message | listen, gun restrictions are good, and the reason why in usa there are so many shootings is because any firearm is allowade. Automatics have always been illegal in australia and since the fatal port arthur shooting, which killed 30+, semi automatics have also been made illegal, and now there NO shootings. The last one was in 2002 when a student took a pistol to Melbourne University (i think it was melbourne, might be wrong) and shot 2 people. |

Message | "Now there is no shootings" "The last one was in 2002" Now you are contradicting yourself. 2002 was 2-3 yearst ago, and if you have one major gun-massacre every three years that is very often. If the reason for shootings in the USA was that many types of guns were allowed in a few states, then there would be a difference between gun rights states and gun control states. However there is not. And if you take wrongful shootings as arguments for gun control, then you should take cases of armed self defense - when gun use prevents a violent crime - as an argument for gun rights. And since that is a lot more common the arguments for gun rights are stronger. |
