Bill: PUR II Healthcare Agenda Amendment I: Abortion
Details
Submitted by[?]: The Royal Union
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2799
Description[?]:
Adressing the MO's argument that "Free contraceptives negate the necessity for abortions." The MO fails to take into account that accidents do happen. No contraception is 100% effective. And in the event of an unplanned, unwanted pregnancy, a woman's only recourse is to either A) Endure a "medical emergency" for 9 months or B) Create her own medical emergency to terminate the pregnancy. These are unhealthy options that a woman should never have to be torn between. Allowing abortions up to and no later than the 2nd trimester removes the risk of unsafe, 'back alley' or make-shift abortion clinics springing up in Kanjor's cities, towns, and homes. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Policy on the legality of abortions
Old value:: Abortions are only allowed in medical emergencies.
Current: Abortion is allowed during the first trimester.
Proposed: Abortion is allowed during the first trimester.

Random fact: Moderation reserves the discretion to declare RP laws invalid if the players supporting them are doing so in an excessively confrontational way. |
Random quote: "To the youth of America, I say, beware of being trivialized by the commercial culture that tempts you daily. I hear you saying often that you're not turned on by politics. The lessons of history are clear and portentous. If you do not turn onto politics, politics will turn on you." - Ralph Nader |
