Message | Ok. A few questions: 1. How do foreign missionaries create religious influences on the government? 2. How do you suppose we separate religion from state when the state directly appoints ministers of religion? 3. How would making a stance on state religion separate religion from the state? |

Message | Agree with all but 4. Too extreme for a yes. |
Date | 22:26:16, August 13, 2009 CET | From | National Action Party | To | Debating the Religion Bill |
Message | 1) This is a parliamentary democracy, foreign missionaries can effect the peoples opinions. Therefor since the people can be influenced and the people have power, missionaries create influence. 2) Never did the NAP state it wished to separate religion from state. The NAP wishes to remove religions influence. If the ministers are appointed then they are puppets of the state and directly influenced by the state itself. 3) Having no stance does nothing to prevent influence. Proposal 5 would cut down on fringe influences on the people. |

Message | So....you want to remove religion's influence on government, but exert government influence on religion? Sounds REALLY fair... |
Date | 09:16:45, August 14, 2009 CET | From | People's Party - Republican Democrats | To | Debating the Religion Bill |
Message | Fairness towards religions is apparently not one of the NAP's motivations, they want government control, so the discussion seems to be somewhat at cross-purposes. |
